For those of you who have been with us for a long time, you may remember our original site design:

Well, when we switched to this cooler-looking theme, the plan was to create a nice site logo to go with it. However, due to various circumstances, that project got pushed onto the back burner for quite some time.
But now, as you probably already noticed, I’m proud to say that I finally finished it!

I think the design shows exactly what the intent of this group is: to provide high-quality Conan subs and rockin’ B’z karaokes to all you fans.

And now for KKS with the release:

Hi there MINNA-san!!! Kienai is back with another case after our short excursion with AZFS. There is only one more joint remaining for us… and that will HOPEFULLY be out soon or something… Bug DCTP for that one lol! This is one of the better AO cases left out there… and also makes our original plan closer to fruition. (i.e. fill the gaps between 360 – New Releases ) Jmaeshawn has been pulling his weight lately and busted out typesets for these episodes AND made that kickin Banner! We should have another episode out this week HOPEFULLY. If not… one will follow real soon. I hope by Friday, really. It’s Finals in college, so it’s getting a bit hectic here. But during spring break expect us to be kicking butts and taking names here. Without further speech from me… here is: Kogoro gets Drunk in Satsuma.

The Butler Did It…

262 is out…. yay! It was a pretty good case considering what we’ve been releasing lately.
I apologize for 289-290 and 303… those were horrible eps

It took a little longer than expected, since we couldn’t find anyone to QC and Mr. Leader of AZFS didn’t have the time to QC like he was SUPPOSED to. So, we released with only 2 QC. We even let AZFS do the Typesetting in this episode because… well… THERE WAS NONE!

Anyway! We are near completion of our next release… Going back to solo Kienai. We should have that out in the same high-quality you’ve come to expect from Kienai. So please be patient

With the release of 262… we are down to 58 unsubbed episodes of Detective Conan. We are almost there folks. We hope you continue to support us in our venture to finish this anime ONCE AND FOR ALL.

Got this done in less than 24 hours with sleep and work lol!. It’s just glorious. Timed in 40 minutes, thought of the effect while laying in bed. Woke up, styled it and finished timing the rest of it. Went to work. Came back, jumped right into it again. Effecting it and subbing the dialogue. ( TL’d by Me, Song was Translated by Arthuro once again. He’s the man. ) Then proceeded to encode. And after the upload and Post you have, from B’z The Best “ULTRA TREASURE” and the titular song of the latest DVD live gym from which this video was taken…. GLORY DAYS! Enjoy… this is really a touching song in many ways.

So HI! This release was started WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back in April 2009. Amazingly this episode survived the brutal sun and the harsh winter to be released today. Kienai, joined by AZFS, have brought out this incredible release. I would like to say that this is gonna be one of the better cases that we have subbed as of late. This would have been out a lot sooner had the original Typesetter went missing for 2 months. And yes… we are making you wait for 262! Been treating everyone too nicely… let’s work up the suspense a little, and if you want to argue with that… You have to argue with…

A new release from [B'z]! I know from the previous comments on the last few that you guys just CAN’T get enough!!! I speak sarcastically of course… COMMENTZ!!!! I work very hard on these >.>. And this time it’s more of a Kienai Release. I timed and effected it myself. We got jmaeshawn to do the logo… looks nicez. And one of our tl’ers came around for the song TL. Once again a shoutout to Arthuro from his site for the interview translation. Many thanks! Look forward to a new karaoke sometime later in the month or in April.. kinda k-timed out atm LOL! Episode 393 is out for all’s enjoyment. It’s what you would expect of a one-parter. Criminal is real easy to guess, as well as the motive. STILL! It’s better than 433, 303, or the 405 in Borg… OMFG! Anyway. Towards the end of the episode, they went HARDCORE on the purple LOL. Like srsly. 261-262 should be out following this one. How soon? Hmmm… sooner than you think? Maybe? Dunno tune in to find out. ALSO, in other news… I’m sure you have seen the additional pages that were added recently. I have added the Download links from the conanquotes DB to it’s own page on our site. Of course hosted on Megaupload, don’t want people throttling my b/w lol! Hey! Kaitoukidsama here with another B’z release finally! This is an ode to my Summer here in Oregon. Filled with new meetings, new friends, new loves and new heartbreaks This song is mainly dedicated to my “hatsukoi” this summer. Ask on IRC, I’m sure we all remember that one. This is a wonderful song, and I tried to make the lyrics even more beautiful than Koshi intended when writing the music. Look forward to another release in a few days. I’m not seeing a Conan release for V-day unfortunately   Typesetter is mad busy lol. But do expect another B’z release, this one being the one meant for Valentine’s Day ofc… and expect a few announcements in the near future… Without further ado, I present Koi no Summer Session (Track 4 from Monster NOT A SINGLE… this being a live from MONSTER’S GARAGE DVD) And it’s available on the new Direct Download tab as well as HQ streaming. Yes, you read that right! This set of releases is dedicated to all those Mitsuhiko lovers out there! (If there are any of those) XD

Also, this is a celebration of our 1-year anniversary of Kienai’s first Conan release that wasn’t Movie 11! Everyone get out your party hats and confetti

When I look back at our year as a team here at Kienai, comparing our older releases to our more recent ones, I can see how much we’ve grown as a team. Thanks to Kaitoukidsama’s improved encoding skills, our video quality has increased significantly, and as I hope you can see from my opening karaoke in these releases, I’m always striving to improve my typesetting skills as well.

We’ve also had many others who’ve helped us this past year. From having our editor, Jing, come and go, to the timers and QCers, I can tell we are just as dedicated to putting out high quality Conan releases as we were a year ago, and we plan to bring out many more releases in the year to come.

Anyway, as with last year’s release (421-422,433), we bring you another triplet of episodes: 289-290, and 303!

(which, unfortunately contain no references to red pandas)

Detective Conan 289 – 290

I think I can safely say that the whole team enjoyed working on these episodes. Personally, since these were mostly set outdoors meant that there was little ts’ing involved for me, so we could ultimately get these done a lot faster. (Always a plus!)

There’s a funny story about these, though. 290 would have been done in only two encodes, but somehow *points to Parkur* the following line made it into what would have been the release encode…

You can thank (or hate me) for this not being in the release...

This episode was good for what it is, although I could tell it was an AO right off the bat before I even looked up the episode information. Apparently, Mitsuhiko is so smart, he can even outmatch Conan in this ep!

Kaitoukidsama: It’s been a rough year for me here at Kienai. Things were finally getting on track. Then I decided to move 3000 miles away from everything I knew. Ended up being a more painful experience than I bargained for. First love, First heartbreak, Homelessness, High Unemployment, Bad Roommates… But I feel the experiences I’ve had here in Oregon made it all worthwhile. Towards the end of ‘09, I got back into the saddle and made some things happen.
We got stuff rolling and before we knew it were back in a system… Here’s to a Conan Filled 2010!!!!
